A Place we can call Home
Everyone, well most of the people, love the idea of the travelling. They say that you only have one life. You only live once — make the most of it.
I have been living on this planet for the past 25 years. Although there are different phases in life. I have visited few places around the world.
I was about 12 years old when I set foot on foreign soil for the very first time. The place, the people, the surrounding were quite like mine, yet they felt quite different. In a way, it made feel as if I was different. Places were beautiful, people were cultured, the environment was quite distinct.
It was really fascinating to see that there were so much more that what I had seen from my homeland. No doubt it wasn’t anything different. Yet I learnt about the place, its people, its wildlife, and the nature. Really, wildlife. Out of everything, I had the best time in the National Parks. Admiring the beauty of the many living, breathing wild creatures up close was mind blowing. The Big Five, they were called. Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, and the rhinoceroses. They are the magnificent beasts of the continent. It is actually very rare to spot all five of them at your first visit. It is disheartening to see that these animals are being hunted today. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful time in Africa.
Among other places, I have been to the Arabian Peninsula. Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The cities are known for its ultramodern architecture, lively nightlife, and luxury shopping. One of the captivating concepts of fun is the lifetime experience of desert safari. It truly was one of the lifetime experiences for me. Even though the experience in this place was different to the life I had in Africa for few years, it felt as if something was still missing.
At this moment, I am living my life in Australia for the past few years. Like the other places, no doubt, this place is also very beautiful. However, the only difference is that I am surrounded by three oceans.
As said by Hugh Jackman — “I love food, all types of food. I love Korean food, Japanese, Italian, French. In Australia, we don’t have a distinctive Australian food, so we have food from everywhere all around the world. We’re very multicultural, so we grew up with lots of different types of food.
It’s true. The place is truly exquisite. Some might say that Australia is an isolated continent. But actually, it is the place where one would find people from all around the world. Everybody loves Australia!
The idea of travelling inspires one to discover new places, to come out of their comfort zones and try new things. In a way, it challenges to adapt and scout new surrounding areas but also to engage with different people, getting involved in different activities, and embrace new exciting adventures as they come. It is a wonderful way of making new connections and sharing meaningful experiences with family and friends.
But with all the moving around in a very short span of time, is it possible to find a place which one can call home?
Afterall, home is the one place where everyone returns to in the very end. It is a happy place, different for everyone. But it’s what everyone calls.
Home Sweet Home!
